This morning, Seed meets Technology kicked off. As the morning progressed, visitors trickled in with increasing intensity, completely in line with the rain outside. For three days, companies in and around the seed technology sector are coming together at Vertify in Zwaagdijk. Some 50 companies will be present with a stand or a trade table. There is also an extensive presentation programme.

One of the companies present is Centor Europe. On display at that company's stand is Sendot's oxygen mini seed scanner. According to Commercial Manager Erwin Gräfe, it is ‘a flexible research tool’ to measure seed respiration by non-invasive oxygen measurement. “The O2 mini is designed to determine seed quality at an early stage of the cultivation process or even in the lab.”
According to Erwin, the practical basis of the system makes it relevant for studying germination, seed viability, homogeneity of germination and the effect of priming, coating and pelleting on seed quality.
