Sendot's new and innovative sensor provides insight into the amount of algae in water streams and sources. The sensor closely monitors the development of algae. Algae are a source of organic matter and the cause of bacterial growth and the development of unfavorable oxygen situations and pollution in pipes. With the measurement data from the sensor, you have tools at your disposal to intervene faster and more efficiently when water quality is affected by algae.
Innovative technology
The algae sensor works on the basis of light pulses and continuously records the fluorescence of the chlorophyll of the algae in the water. This measurement determines the amount of chlorophyll, a measure of algae concentration.
Even before you can see algae growth with the naked eye, our new sensor detects algae. As a result, growers are better able to monitor the quality of the water and can therefore detect problems earlier and take (precautionary) measures faster and more effectively. In this way it contributes to healthy, future-proof water quality.
The added value
The current range of products that measure and monitor algae growth are often research instruments and often difficult to fit into a cultivation environment. A handy and mobile sensor that can be easily connected to a climate computer is therefore an added value for monitoring water quality at an early stage.
Performing and reading measurements
The algae sensor works simply. After you have placed the optrode in the medium to be measured, you can start a measurement via the display of the sensor. You can do an ad-hoc measurement, but you also have the option to log the sensor for a while. You can read out the data (after the fact) via software. Versions of the sensor are also available that can be connected (wirelessly) to the climate computer via an analog connection or 30Mhz via a digital connection.
