Last week, Sendot successfully installed the first six new-generation sensors in the new greenhouse of Butterfly Orchids. In this modern 6-hectare greenhouse, an innovative 2-layer cultivation system is being used.
Improvements in the electronics and firmware of the new generation of sensors have further increased measurement accuracy. Additionally, these sensors also measure PAR at leaf level, ensuring a reliable and realistic representation of light utilisation by the crop.
Thanks to the waterproof design and a battery life of at least two months, the new sensors offer flexible deployment under diverse greenhouse conditions. Via a built-in Narrowband IoT module, the sensors send their data directly to the cloud. From there, the data is made visible in Priva One of Butterfly Orchids via an API link.
This gives growers direct insights into Priva One Operator to optimise more efficiently for growth, energy use and yield. It is wonderful to realise this step together with Butterfly Orchids towards data-driven and future-proof cultivation.
